I wouldn't have captured this if I wasn't looking down and around myself in a garden somewhere in Austin. Everyone knows there's dirt and pebbles and leaves on the ground; one doesn't need to look down specifically to know this. Once in a while, it's good to intentionally look down, because there could be other things or types of bugs that you wouldn't have seen otherwise. It sounds silly, but this mindfulness practice of looking down, feeling the ground, and paying close attention to the details, is a great way to reset and stay grounded in the present moment when life may carry you away into the past or future. A small pebble, or butterfly movement, can create big change.
